we have a variety of Beginner Friendly sessions, Monthly Introduction Days, Beginner Clinics & 1 on 1 sessions available.

Monday & Wednesday Squad swims are available at Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre at 6am & 6:30pm for rookies that can swim 200 metres & want to build up distance. You will need flippers & some commitment!

Run - 8am:
North Bondi Surf Club.

Surf Swim Clinics - 11am:
North Bondi Surf Club.
Minimum standards appply!


Run - 6:30pm:
Kensington Track includes run drills & sprints.

* Rookie Introduction Swim Pack - includes unlimited swimming at our swim squads listed above.
* Includes a 1 on 1 swim lesson at times listed above.
We have 8 pool swim squads with 4 including Stroke Correction.

We also have Open Water Swim squads on Thursday 6:30pm (Clovelly) or Bondi 9:30am - the coach will let you know when you are ready to attend these!
You can start anytime as you get 1 month from your 1st lesson - cost is $199.

* Open Water Rookies
– 
Thursday 6:30pm Clovelly:
perfect introduction to open water as it is flat water but tidal, so has some water movement!
We have a minimum standard of 500 metres non-stop freestyle for this session & you can wear flppers - woohoo!!!
You should either attend a Bondi Fit squad swim or quote a 500 metre swim time before attending!
Meet at bottom of the stairs in front of the surf club on the water side - south side of the bay!
Casual or monthly fees apply!

 

* Rookie Surf Swim Info Guide....
Background - you can swim 1km non-stop freestyle...

- North Bondi Surf Club Saturday 9:30am: perfect rookie option once you can swim 1km non-stop freestyle comfortably! We regularly get 10+ rookies every Saturday in this group when it is sunny.
* You will not correct breathing & stroke correction at North Bondi – all swimming technique must be learned in the pool as above! We provide water safety but be aware this is a squad & we cannot be everywhere at once!

- Monday 7am following our 6am Bondi Icebergs squad, we have an optional surf swim with the coach. You will be advised when suitable for you & this is a perfect way to bridge the gap between pool & surf!
 
- Wednesday 6am surf swim is Intermediate (+) swimmers only & have a minimum standard of 2km non-stop freestyle!

* Footnote - to improve swim speed in the open water, we advise both our stroke correction squads & regular swim squads. You have more options in open water if you are faster in the pool!

* What will you learn? We will firstly try to make you comfortable in the surf!
Once you have established that you won’t drown or a shark probably won’t eat you, we will work on surf skills! This includes at any given session - getting in/ out through the surf, diving under waves, learning to catch waves & how to effectively navigate once out the back!

* What to bring: Minimum of swimmers, swim cap & goggles.
* Wetsuits: if you have one - feel free to wear it! Water temperature is currently 19 degrees!
* Rain – Surf – Shine: we will be there no matter what & we do not offer refunds for missed lessons!

* Valuables:
DO NOT bring valuables to the beach – we normally leave gear next to the lifesaver tent.

* Parking tips:
there is 2 hour FREE parking in the streets opposite the surf club & off the road heading north towards Dover Heights! Metered parking along Campbell parade of paid parking in the Council Car Park facing the beach.
Be aware of Bondi parking issued & leave plenty of time. We DO NOT allow late arrivals, so be ready to go (in your wetsuit if you have one) from 10:25am!

 * Minimum standard: 500 metres non-stop freestyle in the pool.
To ensure you can do this, we advise either turning up to a Bondi Fit swim squad OR quote a 500 metre time! Cannot swim 500 metres? Visit our Swim Stroke Correction page.

Bookings & Cost: All bookings are confirmed via receipt of payment.
- $40 for 1, $100 for 3 or $150 for 5 lessons.

 
   

 
 
Beginner Bike Clinic starts Saturday, January 14 - meet 6:50am for a 7am start!

- Please make sure your bike in good, working condition
- DO NOT wait for the night before to check it!
- Dress according to the weather - the rule of cycling is to overdress, not underdress! 
- Arrive 6:50am for a 7am sharp START - we don't wait for anyone...
- We train RAIN HAIL SHINE! Casual fees apply or FREE to monthly members!
- Mountain bikers: we welcome mountain bikers at our Beginner bike days.

Beginner Runners - Team Bondi Fit weekly Beginner Friendly Squad run sessions:
Beginner Run Clinic starts Saturday, January 14...

 
- Saturday 8am is a run at Bondi Fit Beach, Australia & we mix it up = fun!
Participants have the option to walk/ run to get fit!
If you are not confident just rocking up to Tues or Thurs squads, this is a perfect place to start!
Meet 7:50am for an 8am start outside North Bondi Surf Club.
 
- Tuesday 6:30pm is a mix of run drills, intervals/ sprints, stretching & learning to pace!
This is on the Eastern Suburbs Athletic Track at kensington - sounds scary but the great thing is that no-one is ever more than 200 metres ahead or behind you as track is 400 metres!

Locatuion: E.S. Marks Athletics Field, Boronia Street (off Anzac Parade), Kensington. Entry is $4.50.

Beginner & Rookie Swimmers - pool & surf: It is critical that you start at the correct session for both your own safety, maximising your swimming experience & helping us help you swim faster - woohoo! There are lots of swims available – regular squads, squads including stroke correction, open water swims or 1 on 1 sessions. We assess you in 1 of 3 groups as below. Once you have been coded into our system, you can simply turn up – woohoo! 
 
* Beginners - cannot swim 100 metres non-stop freestyle:
You need a 1 on 1 lesson & integration into our stroke correction squads.
1 on 1 times available: Monday, Wednesday, Friday – 7:30am or Saturday 5:15pm Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre.
Cost is $80 or set of 5 - $375 upfront ($75/ lesson).

Stroke Correction squads:
- Friday 6am & Saturday 3pm at Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre.
- Monday 6am, Wednesday 6:30pm - Bondi Icebergs.
Please note – you will need flippers & a kickboard.
* Tip - you need to swim 3 times per week until you can swim 1km non-stop freestyle!
 
* Pool Rookies: can swim 500 metres – 1km+ but need breaks:
1 on 1 is advised but not essential – see above for available times.
We advise integration into both our stroke correction squads & regular swim squads asap.
